West Northamptonshire and North Northamptonshire Council's partnered to develop and adopt a new 7 year county wide strategy to increase tourism and boost the visitor economy of Northamptonshire.
West Northamptonshire Council and North Northamptonshire Council commissioned a 40-page strategic brochure to present an ambitious new vision for boosting the visitor economy. The brochure needed to convey a unified cross-government effort, highlight robust industry partnerships, and showcase a forward-thinking approach to innovation and development — all while translating complex information into clear, engaging, and accessible content. It was also essential that both councils were equally represented, not just in terms of content but also in the overall aesthetic, selecting imagery and a palette that embodied notes from both brand guidelines.
By working closely with both councils we were able to develop a deep understanding of their goals which enabled us to lead on the conceptualisation, layout and design of the brochure. After receiving and reviewing all copy and imagery from the client, we proposed how many pages the brochure required to ensure the content was flowed so that readers could digest it in a manageable way. Our role also involved extensive project management — coordinating input from multiple teams, navigating client feedback, and reviewing supplied materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and visual alignment throughout.
The completed brochure was printed for a council-led event, where it received positive feedback from influential attendees. It was also made available online, allowing interested parties to view or download and explore it at their convenience. The final document achieved a strong visual impact while effectively conveying the core objective of shaping and enhancing Northamptonshire’s visitor economy.
